- a Novel Drug Delivery Device
The Schelin Catheter enables intraprostatic and periprostatic injection of drugs into the prostate, under aseptic conditions. The device comprises a transurethral catheter and an injection needle which protrudes at the level of the prostate at an angel of approximately 30°. The Schelin Catheter is anchored at the bladder neck by means of a balloon and injections of drugs can be given at different positions of the prostate. This way of introducing drugs is the most convenient technique for both the doctor and the patient.
